Leave the Gun, Take the Adrenochrome
QAnon is the 'one conspiracy theory to rule them all, one conspiracy theory to find them, one conspiracy theory to bring them all and in the darkness bind them in MAGAland, where the edgelords lie'. It's the unified field theory of conspiracies, with a basic premise that the Democratic Party and Hollywood elites are committing ritual child abuse and cannibalism on a global scale. It's Pizzagate on a combination of steroids and meth, the ancient blood libel trotted out for a 21st Century audience, with a lot of accumulated baggage, such as Ickean lizard people, Flat Earth lunacy, and a ton of Satanic Panic and eschatological evangelical fantasies. A lot of it is rooted, though believers may not realize it, in pop culture, with one central tenet of the conspiracy theory, the consumption of adrenochrome as a drug by the elite 'cabal', coming from Hunter S. Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and depicted in the movie based on the book:
Adrenochrome-as-drug is also alluded to in Anthony Burgess' A Clockwork Orange, with 'drencrom' being an additive to the moloko-plus favored by the book's villainous main character. For the record, I'm not a fan of Kubrick's film adaptation, which traded in the gritty, grotty milieu of the book for an all-too-clean aesthetic which I feel glorifies the 'ultraviolence' the book portrays:
Adrenochrome being oxidized epinephrine, the easiest way to obtain adrenochrome is to let an epi-pen go bad. According to the conspiracy theory, though, regular adrenochrome doesn't cut it for cannibals such as Hillary Clinton and Tom Hanks- the good stuff has to be sourced from victims subjected to torture and murder. This is a major plot point in the first episode of the BBC police procedural Lewis:
The Sisters of Mercy weren't particular about sourcing their adrenochrome:
At any rate, the world is a weird place when a mob boss gets gunned down by a guy who believes in a hoax perpetrated by a 4chan/8chan shitposter. The idea of the Mafia sending a couple of bone-breakers to send a message to a couple of online grifters is surreal, the very sort of grotesque lunacy which seems to be a hallmark of this particular era.
Post title based on my favorite line from The Godfather.

Moleman Messiah
Oh, dear, it looks like actor Jim Caviezel, who played Jesus in Mel Gibson's religious torture porn film The Passion of the Christ (I'll put a fun fact in as a footnote), has decided to go full QAnon. He was, via teleconferencing, a special guest at a COVID Conspiracy Convention featuring a coterie of QAnon and MAGA celebrities, many of them also rans who never quite made it as real stars:
I'm not exactly proud of this, but I recognize more of those names than I'd care to admit.
Caviezel did not disappoint, spinning a yarn about the adrenochrome harvesting conspiracy theory. Cavaziel, will be playing Tim Ballard, a 'human trafficking expert' who is under investigation for sketchy practices, in an upcoming movie. In a 'blink and you'd miss it' moment, Cavaziel goes full-on Mole Children conspiracy:
Actor Jim Caviezel appeared at a right-wing COVID conspiracy theorist conference yesterday and promoted the QAnon blood-harvesting conspiracy theory (https://t.co/9RgU0ORDVI) about "the adrenochroming of children." (clip 1/2) pic.twitter.com/JZWxpFbjFY

You have to know the lingo to understand what he's saying: "Because they're pulling kids out of the darkest recesses of hell right now, in DUMBs and all kinds of places." DUMBs are Deep Underground Military Bases, which in certain conspiracy circles are the sites of sinister goings-on, such as the breeding of Mole Children slaves, and meetings between high ranking officials and aliens/demons/Sleestaks. This is basically the Shaver Mystery with the serial numbers filed off, a pulp horror adventure bridging the gulf between fairy abduction lore and the modern UFO abduction urban legend. Also, I dig the way Caviezel turned 'adrenochrome' into a verb.
Caviezel continued in very confused fashion, elaborating on the harvesting of adrenochrome:

The precious line here is: "It's the worst horror I've ever seen, the screaming alone, even if I never, ever, ever, ever saw it." Ho-Kay, he never ever saw the worst horror he's ever seen? Looks like somebody needs some pineal gland stimulation, or better yet, extensive counseling. Talk about dumbs!
How Cavaziel has fallen since the early days of the Oughts, when he played Jesus Christ on the big screen in a blockbuster movie. Now, he's got to be content with playing the Moleman Messiah in a straight-to-video crapfest... and he's going to blame the result of his poor life choices on some sort of sinister 'cancel culture', undoubtedly by (((those people))), by which I mean DEROs.
POSTSCRIPT: When The Passion of the Christ came out, I was dating a girl from Krakow. She mentioned the movie, and I told her, "You really don't want to see it, it will only make you upset." A couple of days later, I met her after work, and she asked me, "Are my eyes red? I've been crying all afternoon." Sure enough, she had gone with a friend of hers to see the movie after their English class had ended. I immediately thought to myself, "Damn, it's not just a movie about an innocent man being tortured and murdered, but you kinda know the guy... if you're seeing it, you probably have a picture of him on your wall."

The Real Reason for Supply Chain Problems!!!
Disruptions in global supply chains are a big international news story, with many factors cited by the Lamestream Media- a shortage of shipping containers, a shortage of truck drivers, a shortage of dock workers... Images of a cargo ship gridlock off the LA coast are all over the internet, and consumers are urged to buy Christmas gifts early because of forecast shipping delays.
The 'normie' narrative just isn't that exciting, though, so the fever swamps have conjured up a more lurid narrative, one involving their favorite conspiracy theory about the Global Elite and their esoteric drug habit:
This is a lot of work to find a drug you can order off the internet for 50 bucks a bottle. pic.twitter.com/grSS8NGE1L
— Poker and Politics (@PokerPolitics) October 14, 2021
Oh, yeah, baby! My favorite drug is whacko conspiracy narratives, and this (complete with misspelling) is quite the fix... My one beef with this particular story is that it completely ignores the Mole Children imprisoned in Deep Underground Military Bases beneath US cities... I mean, how can these people claim to be Making America Great Again when they prefer imported adrenochrome to domestic?
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Atlantic, the struggle against the baby eaters continues:
A group of "Satanic ritual abuse" activists - part QAnon part Satanic panic - is holding a protest outside Windsor Castle. Leader Jeanette Archer says the royal family "are not even human" and hold Satanic rituals to torture children and drink adrenochrome from their blood. pic.twitter.com/yCLU6uVcwc
— Shayan Sardarizadeh (@Shayan86) October 14, 2021
Let's take a deeper look at this, shall we? Leader Jeanette Archer says the royal family "are not even human". I'm certainly no fan of the British royal family, but seeing this nonsense leads me to believe that Johnny Rotten has a lot to answer for!

Creepy Elite ISREAL
In a creepy corollary to the adrenochrome urban legend, a recent startup called Ambrosia will sell you a blood transfusion from a young donor for a mere eight grand a liter... twelve grand for two liters. It's a legal procedure, even though it poses dangers to recipients, by virtue of the fact that blood transfusions in general are legal, therapeutically important procedures. It has been reported that James Bond villain Peter Thiel was interested in obtaining blood transfusions from the young because he thinks that death is merely a problem to be solved.
The whole thing reeks of lurid legend, with images of sanguivorous vampires and evil countesses (here's where I plug the novel The Countess by Rebecca Johns, which portrays Elizabeth Bathory as something scarier than a vampiress, namely a boss from hell). The very idea of the Masters of the Universe consuming the blood of the young is unsettling, though as St Joseph sang 'it's the best years of your life they want to steal'.
When this therapy inevitably fails, maybe these Tech Titans will go for the stronger stuff that the QAnons are yammering about... after all, in true Randian terms isn't Kokkor Hekkus merely a 'disruptor'?
NOTE: I decided to go Vancian because of a recent post at Tor Books.

Accusations of Cheating Before the Game Has Started
Yeah, nothing beats the performance-enhancing power of sweet, sweet adrenochrome... It seems clear to me that the Republicans know that Biden will wipe the debate stage with Trump tonight, so the excuses/accusations are flying thick and fast. It's a stupid runup to what promises to be an exceedingly stupid night. This is all leading up to Trump accusing Biden of staying alert by using adrenochrome. https://t.co/3SNhXalWTc

Human Trafficking Is Evil!!! Except When Our Guy Does It
The central tenet of the QAnon conspiracy theory is that a powerful cabal of well-connected individuals is engaged in human trafficking, specifically for the purposes of the sexual exploitation of underage persons, with the loonier proponents of the theory claiming that the children's blood is harvested for adrenochrome, oxidized epinephrine, which can be obtained by letting an epi-pen go bad. So pernicious is this human trafficking that giant cargo ships full of trafficked children loom large in the conspiracy narrative.
Given the premise of QAnon, the trafficking of children by powerful elites, one would think that the QCumbers would be ecstatic about the FBI's allegations that Congresscreep Matt Gaetz trafficked an underage girl across state lines. This is right in their wheelhouse- a powerful figure gets caught with a young girl he is sexually involved with... this is exactly what they have been harping on since October 2017.
The warning signs were there (besides Gaetz' DUIs), his was the sole vote against a human trafficking bill. Nevertheless, the Q people are defending Gaetz because he is on 'their team'. These people also defended Trump's friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, both serial sex traffickers. Despite all of their 'Save the Children' rhetoric, these people never cared about real victims. Accusations of sexual misconduct are to used as a cudgel to attack their perceived enemies, nothing more. They are incensed about Hillary Clinton trafficking fictional mole children, tunnel tots, and boat babies, but they don't care one whit about the real girls exploited by Matt Gaetz (or Donald Trump himself, for that matter).

Playing Greatest Hits for Biggest Shits
Oh, yeah, the right wing noise machine is at it again, trying to recapture that 2016 high with a lurid story about Hunter Biden's laptop, basically rehashing the Anthony Wiener laptop story. The evidence free conspiracy theories are all of a kind- this new one even alleges that, besides incriminating evidence of collusion with China, there is video of Hunter Biden torturing and molesting children. This is just like the Wiener laptop hard drive, reputed to have contained a video of Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin cutting a child's face off before sacrificing her to obtain her sweet, sweet adrenochrome.
It's lazy and stupid, but these are lazy and stupid people. The supposed source of the data is a Trump supporter with a sketchy story about obtaining the data on Biden's drives, and the promoter of the story is Rudy Giuliani... even convicted felon Bernie Kerik is trying to recapture his fifteen minutes of fame by jumping on this lurid fantasy, tailor-made for the QAnon crowd. The reporters at Rupert Murdoch's New York Post tried to keep their names off the byline. Flimsy evidence be damned, though, idiots have been spreading it on social media.
Like the Hillary/Huma video, evidence of Biden's crimes will never come to light, since it's all made-up nonsense. That being said, Hunter Biden has lost my vote!

A Foundation of Sand
I haven't been able to devote too much time to coverage of the horrific condominium collapse in Miami, but it does concern a couple of my interests, namely the need for strict regulations on developers, and the foolishness of building on barrier islands... I'm not a big Bible guy, but that bestselling book has something to say about building a house on a foundation of sand. While I was shocked by footage of the collapse, so reminiscent of the collapse of the Twin Towers visually, the thing which really grabbed my attention was the map of the locality:
I just want you all to get an idea of where this condominium building was built. On that sliver of land sitting on a delicate coral aquifer, right on the water. #Surfside pic.twitter.com/oxtjXE5gYr
— Cuban Being (@cmkinmia) June 25, 2021
The building was built on a barrier island, and with rising sea levels, water infiltrates the foundation, corroding steel supports and degrading concrete. A building doesn't even need to be underwater to be rendered uninhabitable. A 2018 engineering report indicated that the building had major structural damage, it "detailed significant cracks and breaks in the concrete, which required repairs to ensure the safety of the residents and the public." Other reports indicate that the building was inexorably subsiding.
Of course, the conspiratorial fever swamps are abuzz with shitty narratives, from the relatively mundane domestic terrorism accusation to the outré war to save the Mole Children whackaloonery. The simple fact of the matter, so inconvenient to right wingers because it contradicts their worldview, is that the Miami building collapse is the horrific synergy of deregulation, a Republican tenet, and global warming, which Republicans deny... it's so much easier to opine that Q Team and the White Hats demolished the building to save some Tunnel Tots from Hillary Clinton's adrenochrome harvesting scheme.
Returning to sober, thoughtful mode, I can't place any trust on the government of the state of Florida putting any regulatory burdens on oceanfront developers. Oddly enough, I think the one force which can stop the construction of large buildings on barrier islands is the insurance industry. If it becomes impossible to insure these buildings, and if insurance companies refuse to pay for claims involving improperly sited buildings, the developers will be forced to comply... once they take a bath financially. Of course, that won't bring back the victims of this building collapse, or alleviate the suffering of victims of future collapses.

War Against the Deros?!?!?
In a nutshell, the Mole Children conspiracy posits that hundreds of thousands of children, many of them bred like livestock, are kept captive in Deep Underground Military Bases to serve the whims of the evil cabal which secretly runs the world... as sex slaves, as foodstuffs, as a source for that sweet, sweet adrenochrome. In their need to see the incompetent Donald Trump as a hero, the True Believers have spun a yarn about a military campaign waged by the Pentagon Pedophile Team
Recent earthquakes are, obviously, the result of nuclear munitions set off by the Pentagon Pedophile Task Force to destroy the underground military bases which were used for the breeding and imprisonment of the Mole Children, many of whom have never seen the sun and some of whom are 'deformed', perhaps even genetically engineered human/other chimerae. The tent village cum field hospital in Central Park was set up for the rehabilitation of the liberated Mole Children. Oddly enough, the very Trump supporters who decry 'political correctness' and wouldn't think twice about using a racial slur are concerned that the term 'Mole Children' is derogatory. Even worse, they are worked up over fake captive children while supporting a guy who is running kiddie concentration camps on our southern border.
This lurid yarn is basically 'Pizzagate' on steroids, involving a much, much bigger basement (there's also a crackpot 'theory' about child prisons under LA's Getty Museum), but it's also much, much more... please, follow me down one of my favorite rabbit holes.
The Mole Children narrative is a modern update of the mid-twentieth century 'Shaver Mystery', a farrago of pulp science fiction stories that ran in Amazing Stories from 1945 to 1948. Beginning with the story I Remember Lemuria (claimed to be a true revelation conveyed to Richard Sharpe Shaver telepathically), Shaver's tales concern a malevolent race of beings, related to humans through descent from ancient superbeings, that live in caverns beneath the Earth, having been driven there by the sun's radiation. These malevolent cousins of humanity, the Deros (short for 'detrimental robots', with robot meaning a creature without true free will rather than a mechanical person), use 'ray technology' inherited from the common ancestors they share with humanity to cause accidents, manipulate human emotions, and otherwise wreak havoc on unsuspecting surface dweller:
"These ignorant people learned to play with these things, but not to renew them; so gradually they were mentally
impregnated with the persistently disintegrative particles. This habituates the creature's mind, its mental movements, to
being overwhelmed by detrimental, evil force flows which in time produce a creature whose every reaction in thought is
dominated by a detrimental will. So it is that these wild people, living in the same rooms with degenerating force
generators, in time become dero, which is short for detrimental energy robot.
"When this process has gone on long enough, a race of dero is produced whose every thought movement is concluded
with the decision to kill. They will instantly kill or torture anyone whom they contact unless they are extremely familiar
with them and fear them. That is why they do not instantly kill each other — because, being raised together, the part of
their bram that functions has learned very early to recognize as friend or heartily to fear the members of their own
group. They recognize no other living thing as friend; to a dero all new things are enemy.
"To define: A dero is a man who responds mentally to dis impulse more readily than to his own impulses. When a dero
has used old. defective apparatus full of dis particle accumulations, they become so degenerate that they are able to
think only when a machine is operating and they are using it; otherwise they are idiot. When they reach this stage they
are known as 'ray' (A Lemurian word not to be confused with ray as it is used in English.) Translated, ray means
'dangerous or detrimental energy animal.' Ray is also used to mean a soldier — one of those who handles beam weapons
(note how the ancient meaning has come into our modern word)."
The Deros would not only plague humanity with these rays, but would abduct humans to be used as playthings in their evil games and foodstuffs in their grisly larders. The stories being Pure Pulp, these victims were usually portrayed as down on their luck showgirls, rather than the children of the current narrative, which is largely informed by the Satanic Panic of the 1980s. Scantily clad ladies in distress are better subjects for pulp cover art, and it's all about moving product.
The 'Shaver Mystery' was Amazingly popular throughout it's short run in the 1940s until it was eclipsed, then supplanted, by the Flying Saucer phenomenon. Still, its 'DNA' lives on in UFOlogy, particularly in the abduction/hybridization narrative. Deros or ETs (or fairies, for that matter), what's the difference? The Shaver mystery was lampooned by Harlan Ellison, who thought the whole tawdry business tarnished the reputation of Science Fiction, in his short short story The Elevator People:
"E is for ELEVATOR PEOPLE. They never speak, and they cannot meet your gaze. There are five hundred buildings in the United States whose elevators go deeper than the basement. When you have pressed the basement button and reached the bottom, you must press the basement button twice more. The elevator doors will close and you will hear the sound of special relays being thrown, and the elevator will descend. Into the caverns. Chance has not looked favorably on occasional voyagers in those five hundred cages. They have pressed the wrong button, too many times. They have been seized by those who shuffle through the caverns, and they have been . . . treated. Now they ride the cages. They never speak, and they cannot meet your gaze. They stare up at the numbers as they light and then go off, riding up and down even after night has fallen. Their clothes are clean. There is a special dry cleaner who does the work. Once you saw one of them, and her eyes were filled with screams. London is a city filled with narrow, secure stairways."
John Nebel, a precursor to Art Bell, covered the Shaver Mystery a decade after its heyday in a couple of his radio shows. Sadly, Shaver and his Deros are largely forgotten these days, with memory kept alive only by a select cadre of weirdos such as myself. A good source for all things 'Shaver' is the Shavertron website.
To put it succinctly, the Mole Children kerfuffle is an update of the Shaver Mystery, with that most Dero-esque of men, the Id-ruled Donald J. Trump, improbably cast as a hero, supported by a force of... uhhhhh... digital soldiers who save humanity by... uhhhh, sitting on their asses, shitposting on Twitter. I imagine the bulk of them are unaware that they are tapping into a genuine pop culture phenomenon of the 1940s, but these MAGA types aren't exactly known for their memories.

Malice Towards Alice
At first, I thought it was a QAnon freak, given the 'movement's' recent obsession with Central Park's 'Mole Children' rescue. The Anons have long incorporated imagery from Lewis Carroll's books, often filtered through other works such as The Matrix, and 'Follow the White Rabbit' has long been a catchphrase of the conspiracy fantasy:
At first, 'follow the white rabbit' seemed merely to refer to the deep dive away from the mainstream narrative into the depths of conspiracy theory, but recently, it has taken on a new meaning, with the nutters believing that 'white rabbit' refers to the chemical structure of adrenochrome, the oxidized adrenaline that they believe is the drug of choice/elixir of youth used by the sinister cabal that secretly rules the world.
Early on in the span of the conspiracy theory, in typically subliterate fashion, the 'Anons' also used the phrase 'Alice and Wonderland' to refer to Hillary Clinton's cozy relationship with the human rights abusing Saudi regime... never mind that these very same Anons are totally cool with this shit.

Q-Waitus Interruptus
Rather than consume coverage of HW's state funeral yesterday, I figured that I'd dive into the fever swamps of right-wing whackaloonery to see how the fringe covered the proceedings... Some members of the QAnon crowd, exemplified by genuinely mentally ill Liz Crokin, believe that this sickly 94 year-old man was executed by a military tribunal in order to cause the elite to assemble in one place for mass arrests/executions... which never materialized. The Q crowd was so hopeful that their December Death Day, D5, would come- they were excited that a charter bus with paper signs reading '5' and 'D' would whisk the evildoers off to a swift execution. Today, after the letdown of Q-waitus interruptus, they are backpedaling, claiming that the 'good guys' raided the homes of funeral attendees, some of them have decided, in true Camping fashion, that they forgot to carry the potato when they divided, so they muffed the date. I expect that the true believers will double down, in a true When Prophecy Fails manner... they really, really want their Pain. I would feel sorry for them if they weren't so damn bloodthirsty- I mean, these people are idiots who believe that Trump's chronic misspellings are coded messages.
Since this topic has the potential to be depressing to people who aren't as sanguine about this sort of lunacy, I figure I should end it with one of my all-time favorite songs, Stuart, by the Dead Milkmen:
It's the perfect distillation of right-wing lunacy- it captures the evangelism, condescension, paranoia, and Dunning-Kruger style self-assurance of the conspiracy theorist. Released in 1988, the song is even more topical these days than it was when it was written.
