Horror Movies

Tonight, I will be heading to the beautiful Bell House in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn for a special Secret Science Club presentation of classic cheesy horror movie The Tingler featuring Bastard fave Vincent Price. For the record, Vincent Price utters one of my favorite quotes from any movie in the classic low budget horror film Tomb of Ligeia:

Christopher, not ten minutes ago I... I tried to kill a stray cat with a cabbage, and all but made love to the Lady Rowena. I succeeded in squashing the cabbage and badly frightening the lady. If only I could lay open my own brain as easily as I did that vegetable, what rot would be freed from its grey leaves?

Gotta love, love, love that Vincent Price. Sure, I'll be in Brooklyn, but I'll leave you good folks with a nice little bit of entertainment:

Just be glad you didn't make love to the cabbage and kill the Lady with the stray!

Sounds like a fun evening.
I loved Vincent Price as well. Did you ever see The Hilarious House of Frankenstein? It was a Canadian kids supposedly for kids. I used to watch it growing up. He was in it. :)

"What rot would be freed?" indeed.

It's only natural that a man would have to wonder why he tried to kill a stray cat with a cabbage. That's just wrong. A cabbage is a terrible weapon.

Vincent Price was the best thing on Welcome To My Nightmare.

Hey, now, cabbage gives great head!

Did you ever see The Hilarious House of Frankenstein?

I'm not familiar with this... I have to look it up. I loved Vincent Price as Egghead in "Batman".

"What rot would be freed?" indeed.

Cabbage blogging...

Don't use kale,
You will fail
To impale.

The spider suit is awesome.

Not "cilantro"?

I'm no Scalia... what's with Republicans and their hate for broccoli?

Let the record show that thudner is a SOCIALIST who wants to make EVERYONE IN AMERICA use broccoli to kill cats.

Broccoli is the Brassica of liberal fascism.

I made a salad out of Cercis canadensis flowers yesterday.

So you've decided to forage? Excellent decision, old chum. My lovely stinging nettles are coming along nicely (made biscuits flavored with nettle puree) and I was able to snack on some Japanese knotweed on the job earlier this week.

oooh, what do they taste like?

Yeah, wiki says the green twigs are used to season game- the tree is also known as "spicewood".

Sinead O'Connor. Yea or nay?

I dig Sinead- she's had some rough spots in her career, but I can't help digging her.

Actually, I was asking whether I should bother getting tix for the Milwaukee show.

Dr.KennethNoisewater said...

I thought it was a more existential question like "if sinead o'connor rips up a picture of the Pope in the woods...can I watch?"

How much they going for?

You'll need a dispensation from Mother Bernadette.
