When Tired and Lacking Inspiration

How about this for a gambit, or maybe a cheat? When you're tired and uninspired, fall back on the creativity of others. While poking around the t00bz, I found a pretty webcomic version of H.P. Lovecraft's fantasy The Strange High House in the Mist by an artist named Jason Thompson. It's a nice bit of work, and not long enough to be a major time sink. Of course, taken in the aggregate, Mr Thompson's site has the potential to be a major time sink.

Even as I write, I'm eyeing his nice version of The Cats of Ulthar. I should farm out a review of this to a guest blogger.

The initial sequence of Menes and his kitten, and it being lost, are absolutely beautiful, and heart-hurting. I am so very impressed, thanks for being tired and lacking inspiration!.

The whole short is brilliant.

Thanks, B - I now have a new unneeded rabbithole, you bas-, ummm, bugger.

Poking around the internet for comics based on stories written around a century ago is getting into some pretty seriously endearing nerd territory. I love it.

I checked out the comic. Man, that guy must be dedicated fan. I'll tell ya what, I'll take getting lost in this rabbit hole over this any day of the week.

Nah, I was just heading out on the drive home. I didn't hit the sack until an hour or so later.

It just goes to show that HPL was unfairly pigeonholed as a "horror" writer.

I live to serve.

Wow, I never knew bronies were so insistent on monogamy... well, I guess it's "My Little Pony", not "Our Little Pony".

There is something just *right* about the combination of HPL and large-eyed soulful anime.

Don't even think of bringing up tentacles!

Added to the long long list... Thanks!
