When a Joke Leads to Nostalgia

In order to make a joke in the latest "Riddled" comment thread, I had to resort to teh Goog... I am not really a comic book fan (with one notable exception), so I had to look up the setting of a cult British comic book, which I had conflated with a British pop band which I had sadly all-but-forgotten. Anyway, I've been on a bit of a Mega-City Four kick tonight, which is fortunate, because they put out some damn fine pop songs:

Snark... it makes everything better, doesn't it?

Welcome to the Xenozoic Age, a post-apocalyptic landscape where dinosaurs roam freely…and humanity is the endangered species!

I often have to consult The Great and Powerful Google to make sure my jokes is based on, well, actual things.

This group sounds a bit like REM, though not nearly as good.

Of course, there's a lot of GUNS! GUNS! GUNS! so it would probably be a wingnut paradise.

I don't hear that at all. Of course, I think this sounds a lot like REM.

Well, REM have sounded like a lot of different things, so there's a lot of ground there.
