The ApPotUs

Tonight, Donald Trump announces his pick for Supreme Court justice during primetime. The guy really thinks in 'Reality TV' terms- this announcement will be really good for ratings. Unfortunately, unlike his role in The Apprentice, his current gig doesn't involve editing out his incompetence and viciousness... now, wouldn't you love to see the footage that ended up, as the cliche goes, on the cutting room floor?

I'm not going to predict his pick, but nominating Amy Coney Barrett would be a classic troll maneuver- putting a woman in charge of dismantling women's reproductive rights, then calling any liberal critics of her misogynists. Of course, I have a plan for such a contingency, and it's crazy enough that it JUST MIGHT WORK!!! At any rate, I won't be watching the live announcement, having no wish to boost Dotard's ratings.

I think we who oppose the current POTUS should quit speaking his name. We should shun the man completely. The reason for this is because his name is a brand. And speaking his name or tweeting, facebooking, blogging or writing his name is free advertising for his brand. The worst thing you can do to a brand is to ignore it. If you didn't like a certain brand of say, hotdogs, you wouldn't talk about them or use them or buy them. You would ignore them. And if enough people ignored them they would go away. This is a rule of capitalism. We can still respect the office of the President but we don't have to mention his name. This is just an idea to think about. But I for one will never speak his name again.

That's funny, because I just said the same thing about ratings. Our President loves to be the center of attention, and I don't want to be part of his circus, even if I'm just there to throw tomatoes.

Actually, I just saw a headline so I know who he chose, but... the TV remains on the Science Channel until the announcement is over and done.

i've seen it suggested we should call him "45"

the number reminds us he is one in a long line, and that line will presumaby continue - although, as yogi berra said, it's hard to make predictions, especially about the future
