Via Tengrain, we have news that Bobby Jindal of Louisiana is looking to pass an Indianesque "religious freedom" law to let bigots off the hook when they persecute LGBT folks. Meanwhile, his budgetary lunacy will force Louisiana State University to cut down to the bone. Nice priorities, eh? With that in mind, how about a little poem dedicated to pie-ish (he's not a real pie, he may be flaky but he's only half-baked)?
Jesus don't really care about your buttsex.
Jesus don't really care about your kink.
To Jesus it just doesn't even matter,
If you stick it in the brown or in the pink.
Jesus don't really care about your buttsex.
Jesus don't really care about your freak.
Why don't you read what he said in the Bible?
Shouldn't you start to turn the other cheek?
If you want to consider yourselves Christians, start acting like Jesus, not like some Deuteronomy-cherry picking authoritarian. Time to put the Christ back in Christianity.

Loving it.
We're coming up to a moment. A moment where we decide who we are, and if this nation is capable of some kind of coherent belief system.
The more extreme and hateful the right wing is, the easier this is going to be.
The system is unsustainable. The population cannot get beyond its hatred. We're going to have to decide how to move forward when we loathe everything we are.
Ultimately, there's no point in delaying the inevitable. It would be nice if we could figure out a peaceful way to break up the US and live side by side, but if it's going to take a civil war, let's get to it and see where we end up.
They HATE us. They believe things that are not true, and cannot be persuaded to believe reality. They hate vast swaths of people that we consider part of our family. How much longer should we continue to consider them part of our democracy? At what point do we tell them they are no longer welcome in a nation that values diversity and immigration?
Shouldn't you start to turn the other cheek?
What you do there, I see it.

They even hate vast swaths of people they consider their family.

Cheeky!
"If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing."

Christ might just now want anything to do with Christianity as it mouthily exists in a good deal of America these days.

Malcolm was right. Thanks Mr Hiatt!

They'd crucify him as soon as he showed up.
