The annual deer hunting season is starting in many US states, and in true pandemic era fashion, it's probably going to be fraught with peril... the SARS-CoV-2 virus has been found in deer throughout the country. This is disconcerting, because this zoonotic virus now has new, common hosts in which it can mutate into new strains which might infect human hosts.
The immediate danger is that hunters will be exposed to the virus while field dressing the deer they kill. It might very well be a case of who's culling whom? Well, those hunters are in danger of overpopulation, anyway.
Post written and scheduled pre road trip.
