The cats and I were on patrol,
When Ginger caught a meadow vole.
She left it by a maple bole.
Her brother then the carcass stole.
He stole the vole and ate it whole.
And now, dear friends, my tale is tol'.
I'm a bit shocked that Ginger carried the vole around for a bit, then just dropped it on the ground, ignoring it. Her opportunistic brother then picked it up and ate it, including the crunchiest of crunchy parts. I'll refrain from showing pictures of the incident, here's a picture of the two cats enjoying a peaceful moment after the incident:
The rodent abatement task is not a pretty one, but the Rodent Abatement Team sure is pretty.
Once in a while in my house, I find a single large back leg of a grasshopper or something. Never a mouse tail or anything, but parts of things that have been eaten, nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteI always find it a little disturbing.
I should probably mention in passing that I have a cat. It would be more disturbing, I suppose, if I didn't. I don't want anyone to think bad things about my roommate sister.
I'm not sure where I was going with this.
It's almost like Jack Sprat and his wife!

ReplyDeleteI'm totally cool with entomophagy.
It's almost like Jack Sprat and his wife!
Or like 'Grand Theft: Rodent'.
