Holy crap, this is my one thousandth post. One... thousand... posts! It's funny, when I started blogging back in December of 2009, I never really thought ahead to a time when I would have posted one thousand blog entries. Once again, I want to thank everybody who reads my blog- you are the reason I keep doing this, the reason why it's so much fun. I especially want to thank the regular commentariat, you are the nicest, funniest people on the internet, and you have brought me much entertainment and camaraderie over the years. Words are not exactly adequate to express my gratitude, folks.
One thing that I seriously have to contemplate as I continue this blogging endeavor is labeling my posts. I haven't labeled a single post in all the years that I have been writing this blog. One benefit of labeling my posts would be going back over old blog entries, seeing what I was concerned with at a particular moment in time, and editing any typos or grammatical lapses (I would not change the substance of any posts in any way).
The internet is an amazing thing... it's basically a cognitive map, the various links and browser entries form a pathway that can be followed to determine one's mental state at a particular moment in history, and to assemble a more cohesive map of one's personality. I'm seriously thinking about going back and tracing out this pathway, but the task seems a bit daunting.
Anyway, thanks for reading this blog and sharing your comments. Your time is precious, and I'm flattered that you're spending some of it perusing my little essays and scribblings.
I'm up to 661.
ReplyDeletePosting pictures is hard work...

Thanks for your support from day one, Thunder.
ReplyDeletebald and big, wondering what you ended getting up to last night ?.. in a compare , there was a cabaret down the road here , i went in and had a visit when they were setting up the stage earlier in the day , then when they started putting the plastic over the windows (it's an antique shop ) because it was going to be a racy and late evening , i teasingly started tearing at the plastic saying let me out .. ,/ came back here and fell in to a slumber on my bedding , nothing could be more romantic than me falling in to a slumber in my bedding , i didn't make it back there ..

Right back atcha, old chum! Oh, did you read my recap of Tuesday's lecture? It was about microbial endosymbionts, with a concentration on H. pylori.

It's always interesting to see where we are at a particular moment in time, to recall what we were feeling... it's easy to forget things.
It's always a pleasure to find someone even more verbose than I am...
Thanks! It helps to have good subject matter, something I am grateful to have.

You have an interesting "cadence" in your writing, and I am just beginning to figure it out.

A lot of the good people on my blogroll are Canadians. I think my blog would pass the "Canadian Content" laws.
Congratulations on 1000 posts and here's to 1000 (or more) additional! You're a fine gent to share a digital universe with. (I'm something over 1500 posts myself--hardly as many as I've started, more than I've necessarily liked putting out there. But sharing thoughts is what makes the internets go 'round, no?)

ReplyDeleteHow did you ever characterize yourself as "slackerish"?
I started in 2007. And I never built a community as such until a minute ago. I'm weirdly introverted for public commentary as a hobby-choice. I admire what you've built here in the way I do Rumproast--blogs can become a rapport among people, but mine was for very long very much me. And that part was slackerish of me.

ReplyDeleteCongrats boss - your stuff is great and your discipline amazing. Another 1000 by Tuesday?

ReplyDeleteI have to confess, I grabbed most of my blogroll from the Sadly, No! commentariat. Bloggers such as Substance McGravitas, Thunder, Another Kiwi and Smut Clyde, N__B, The Blogger Formerly Known as Vacuumslayer, mikey, D-KW, Jenn of Ark, and the like have been instrumental in inspiring me.
Congrats boss - your stuff is great and your discipline amazing. Another 1000 by Tuesday?
Thanks, man, and thanks for starting your own great blog. Another 1000 by Tuesday? I dunno, the most I ever posted in a day was 24 entries.
We ARE swell aren't we?
You got that right!
